Making Wise Choices: Guardianship Training Workshops sponsored by the Workshops for Professionals Each Friday session is specifically structured for lawyers and other professionals. This all-inclusive workshop includes lunch, Continuing Education Credit for professionals (attorneys, professional guardians, support coordinators) and the opportunity to meet presenters, sponsors and fellow attendees during a "Meet and Greet" Friday evening. The workshops for professionals will be presented three times at three locations - Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Tallahassee - to allow for the widest dissemination of this important and comprehensive information. Presenters for each workshop will be local experts, members of the project team and family members. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS Special Note: This workshop will help any attorney serving as court-appointed counsel in a guardianship proceeding to meet the new educational requirements as set forth in F.S. 744.331 (2) (d), which states, "Effective January 1, 2007, an attorney seeking to be appointed by a court for incapacity and guardianship proceedings must have completed a minimum of 8 hours of education in guardianship." Professional Guardians: An application has been approved for The Florida Statewide Public Guardianship Office for 7.0 hours of Continuing Education Credit. Support Coordinators will receive a Certificate of Attendance. All three workshops for Professionals are being held on Fridays.
